IOS6 new features which you might not know about

Complete List

With the IOS 6 comes 200+ new features. A lot of them we don’t know about. Here are a few which might be useful

01) Pull to refresh.

iOS 6 finally allows you to pull down to refresh your mail accounts and various other data sources. Ignore the reload button and start swiping down.

02) Wake up to a song.

No longer does one need to be woken up with alarm bells or ringtones. Instead, you can pick any song in your library or make any recording which tells you to wake up.

03) Only receive message alerts from contacts.

If you head into the Settings app, then Notifications, then Messages, you can set your alerts to only show up for your contacts.

04) Sync Your Text Expansion Shortcuts Across Devices

A great feature of the iPhone(which i still cannot find in android) is the ability to have shortcuts. It lets you type long addresses, usernames etc with just a few strokes. For instance On my way could be omw. Just go to keyboard then shortcuts and get creative. IOS6 takes this a step further by letting you sync these between other IOS devices. Settings > iCloud, and scroll down to Documents & Data. Tap it, flip the switch to On, and do the same on your other iOS 6 devices. Your custom dictionary and shortcuts should stay in sync between all your devices.

05) Siri and Apps.

Better late than never, Siri can now open your apps. Just say “launch” followed by the app and Voila. This is really useful for someone like me who has more apps than the average person.

iPhone 5 battery

Reports coming in of battery issues in the new IPhone 5. Could this be hardware related or as always would a patch be needed? My Iphone 5 seems to be running just fine. People with issues could try a clean install as opposed to setting up from a back up.
