Lockitron-Unlock your doors in a new way

by TGN

If you are anything like me then you rely on your smart phone for everything. My music(Sonos), lights(Rako), window blinds(Leutron), security Ipcameras(Foscam), baby monitors(Withings)home theater(Crestron) Apple TV(Apple), DVD and Blueray(Samsang) etc are all controlled by my phone from their apps available free on both Android play store and Apple app store. Losing my smartphone would be like losing a piece of me.

Well folks…..theres a new gadget which can be added to the list. A door lock. Its called Lockitron. One might think why this is needed in the first place but Lockitron will change all that.

There can be many reasons why one would want to lock/unlock their doors when you are away. Maybe to let the staff in, or maybe you simply forgot to lock the door when you left. Imagine sending a text message to your door to unlock or lock it. How about it automatically unlocking/locking when your phone comes within a certain distance. Or simply use the APP and lock/unlock it. It also has a feature to alert you when the door is unlocked. The best part is that you don’t need to make any modifications to your door and everything is done wirelessly.

The possibilities are great and I look forward to getting it as soon as it is released. Head over to Lockitron and check out the brief video on their site to get a better idea.
