First ever text message

Text messages have become a major part of our lives. For most of us not a day goes by when we dont send or receive one, and yesterday(3rd December) marked its 20th birthday.

It was on December 3, 1992, when a young chap, Neil Papworth only 22 years old sent the world’s first text message using a personal computer. He messaged “Merry Christmas” to the Richard Jarvis who was attending a Christmas party. What started 20 years ago as a way to just send quick messages to company staff has today become a revolutionary force.
