Ipad Mini

by TGN

Apple today announced the Ipad mini which would be available from the 2nd of November. The few notable differences are, obviously the 7.9 inch display and its smaller size. This makes it 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the 4th generation Ipad. The resolution isnt all that great at 1024 x 768( 163ppi ) which nowadays isn’t considered much.

The inside has an A5 processor same as the Ipad 2, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi and the new Lightning connector.

The price is$329 for the Wi-Fi 16GB model,  $429 (32GB) and $529 (64GB) variants, the LTE will cost at least $459, with the same $100 price increase as you increase the storage. Both black and white variants will be available for pre order on 26th October and will ship out 2nd November.

Due to the smaller display and a lower price the Ipad Mini would be targeting Kindle Fire HD, Nexus 7 and alike. If you take your Ipad wherever you go and/or use it for browsing, facebook, email and such then this is for you however if you are like me who uses it for gaming, videos etc then I would stay away.

Personally Im not that excited about this product and I think the market hasn’t reacted that positively either.

AAPL  share is down to $620(-2%)
